At its simplest, handMEED is a family owned and operated small business that handcrafts (mostly wood) custom decor items.  At its most complicated, handMEED is a family owned and operated small business that handcrafts (mostly wood) custom decor items.  That wasn't a typo...anyone who works with family knows it is both simple and complicated! 😜

I never know what I want for my birthday or Christmas.  In a way, that's kind of how handMEED started.

Several years ago (longer than I'll ever admit) due to my lack of decision making skills, Danny took things into his own hands and started making me my gifts.  Typically things we needed or that I thought would look nice in a certain area around the house.  Towel hooks for the bathrooms, a coat rack for the entry way, a spice rack for the kitchen, bookshelves for Emma's room.  I enjoyed watching the process of him making these things, almost as much as he loved making them.  I picked up a few things myself and before you knew it, we were working together to make gifts for our family and friends.  Sometime throughout all those years, the kids got older and learned to love woodcrafting as much as we do.  Who doesn't love a power tool amiright! 

So here we are, just starting to turn our hobby into an actual business, yikes!  Taking our joy for making wood decor items for our home and sharing that with all of you.  We hope you find something you love here, because we only make things that WE love and would display or use in our own home!
